Light weakness in the stock market, Yes Bank slipped 4%

New Delhi: Stock markets closed in a red mark on Monday. However, the markets rebounded from the day's low. The selling in Reliance Industries and banks' shares increased the pressure on the market.

The BSE Sensex closed at a low of 41,643, down 39 points or 0.09 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty 50 index was at 12,266 at the end of trading, with a nominal weakness of 5.65 points or 0.05 per cent. Mid-cap index and small-cap index also closed in the red.

Yes Bank shares plunged 4 per cent on the Nifty 50 index. After this, the shares of Nestle India, Reliance Industries, State Bank of India, Coal India, Adani Ports, Tech Mahindra, Britannia Industries, ICICI Bank and Ultratech Cement registered a major decline.

On the other hand, Zee Entertainment shares jumped 3.5 per cent. Apart from this, shares of Vedanta, Maruti Suzuki India, Dr Reddy's Labs, HDFC, Hero MotoCorp, Bharat Petroleum, Asian Paints, Bharti Infratel and Axis Bank rose the most.

On Monday, the Nifty Media and Auto Index gained three-fourth per cent. Apart from these, only the finance service and IT index rose. Balaji Telefilms shares broke the most on the media index. Bosch shares were the strongest on the auto index.

The government bank index dived up to 1.25 per cent. The reality and FMCG indices were down by half a per cent. Only two government banks climbed and closed. Shares of Indiabulls real estate on the realty index were down more than 4 per cent. The scope of the decline of other indices was very small.

Shares of 28 companies hit their 52-week high during Monday's session. These included Adani Green Energy, Akash Infra Projects, DLF, Edelweiss ETF, Muthoot Finance, Max Ventures and Industries, NESCO and NMDC. In contrast, shares of a total of 58 companies, including Blue Chin India, Cox & Kings, GB Global, Hotel Leela Ventures, Jain Studios, KCP, Majesco, Reliance Home Finance, SpiceJet, Vipul, V Mart and Zuari Global, hit their 52-week low Slipped to level.

28 stocks on the Nifty 50 index closed green, while 21 stocks closed with a red mark. The price of one share did not change. The Sensex gained 18 stocks and a dozen stocks disappointed. On the BSE, 1,125 stocks ended the session with a gain and 1,393 shares ended the session with weakness.
