The wealth of investors of these eight companies increased by One Trillion.
 

New Delhi: In the week ended on Friday, the wealth of investors of 8 of the top 10 companies in the country increased by about Rs 1 lakh crore. Actually, the same amount increased in the market capitalization of these companies last week.


There was a strong shopping in the market last week. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) benefited the most from the strength of the market. The market cap of only two companies declined. These include Hindustan Unilever and ITC.


The market cap of eight companies - HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries (RIL) and Infosys - including Tata Consultancy Services, rose.

The market cap of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) rose by Rs 56,604.72 crore to Rs 8,33,986.26 crore. The market capitalization of top private bank HDFC Bank increased by Rs 18,475.04 crore to Rs 7,09,932.25 crore.


Valuation of giant petrochemical company Reliance Industries increased by Rs 10,744.95 crore to Rs 10,13,892.21 crore. The market cap of leading home loan company HDFC increased by Rs 8,962.42 crore to Rs 4,15,667.95 crore.

The market cap of other IT giants Infosys increased by Rs 8,836.3 crore, after which it reached Rs 3,11,719.03 crore. ICICI Bank's market cap rose by Rs 5,491.87 crore to Rs 3,53.043.84 crore.


The market cap of the largest public sector bank i.e. State Bank of India (SBI) increased by Rs 4,596.17 crore to Rs 3,01,5188 crore. The market cap of Kotak Mahindra Bank, another private bank, rose to Rs 3,23,489.31 crore with a slight increase of Rs 253.14 crore.

However, the valuation of the top FMCG company Hindustan Unilever (HUL) declined by Rs 12,599.2 crore to Rs 4,21,510.56 crore. The market cap of the second major FMCG company ITC declined by Rs 491.58 crore to Rs 2,96,479.45 crore.


On the basis of market cap, Reliance Industries still holds the first position. Tata Consultancy Services retained the second position and HDFC Bank stood third. Hindustan Unilever and HDFC are present on the fourth and fifth positions respectively.

ICICI Bank got the sixth place and Kotak Mahindra Bank got the seventh place. State Bank of India, ITC and Infosys are respectively on the last three positions. The BSE Sensex closed up 671.83 points or 1.63 per cent at 41,681.54 last week.
